Remembering Exodus

Tragic news yesterday as we learned of the terrible accident suffered by Mike Tyson’s four-year-old daughter, Exodus. Placed on life support at the hospital, Exodus died today. It’s not clear how the accident happened. The child somehow strangled in a cord attached to a treadmill.

I’ve never liked Mike Tyson. I think the man has serious emotional problems. But I wouldn’t wish the accidental death of a child on any parent.

Condolences to Mike and his family.

  1. This story just made my stomach turn. Oh, the tragedy of it all. So sad.

We parents try so hard to keep our kids safe, but sometimes stuff just happens. It always seems particularly unfair and tragic when it happens to innocent children.

  2. Fifteen years ago I ran into Mike Tyson in a Blockbuster in Arlington, VA. He’s a weird one, all right. He kept going back and forth between children’s movies and horror. I guess that’s what happens when you get hit in the head for a living.

But aren’t you already a little “off” if you decide to make your living that way? He’s always reminded me of a mad dog — crazy, unpredictable, killer instinct, amoral. (Glad you got out of the Blockbuster in one piece.)

... and that's my two cents
