Some of you may recall my howls several months ago when MSNBC’s David Shuster demonstrated the shortcomings of his education by mispronouncing the word sword, repeatedly.
Today he made me cringe again. Maybe I’m just hypersensitive about these things. Okay, I seriously am hypersensitive. But quick, how do you pronounce “civet cat”?
Well, he pronounced it SIGH-vit. Long i. Ouch!
For those of you who, like me, have better things to do than learn the names and faces of all the cable news anchors, I’m including his picture. And if that doesn’t peg him for you, his Wikipedia bio reminded me he’s the class act who was suspended by NBC for saying Chelsea Clinton had been “pimped out” by her parents.
Shame on me for being so snarky. I hate to think what people would be saying about me if I spent as many hours on live TV.
