HDL or LDL: How to remember which one is bad

HDL or LDLHDL and LDL cholesterol. Maybe you’re one of the many people who have trouble remembering which is the good one and which is the bad.

There’s a simple mnemonic I learned years ago:

HDL — H is for Healthy

LDL — L is for Lethal

Bet you never forget again.

    1. H and L don’t really stand for Healthy and Lethal. That’s just an easy way to remember which is good and which is bad. (They actually stand for high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein.)
