  1. I’ve always had an unconscious, deeply rooted, fascination with trees. Maybe it’s because the seem to endure so much relative to the apparent frailty of other forms of life. And maybe it’s because the stand in silent witness to so much – more than most of us can even recall. To me, it’s always a sad thing when a tree falls.

    1. Me too, in case you couldn’t tell. Forest fires always reduce me to tears, particularly when they are caused by careless, thoughtless human beings. At least the Anne Frank tree was brought down by nature — disease, insects, and storm.
