Those of you who don’t watch much national news might have missed the story, so I thought I’d mention it. (You know me and my webcams.)
There’s a pair of bald eagles nesting in Decorah, Iowa, and they’re on live streaming video 24/7, compliments of the Raptor Resource Project. The nest is high in a cottonwood tree at a fish hatchery — nice digs for fish-eating raptors. Someone is monitoring the camera and zooming and panning as necessary for the best possible view. Two of three eggs have hatched and the third looks like it might hatch today. The eaglets are adorable balls of gray fluff and the adults are as spectacular as only adult bald eagles can be.
Check it out here. You’ll become one of up to 165,000 viewers (simultaneous live viewers, not just hits). And be sure to scroll down the page for lots of information about the eagles, links to more videos, etc.
I caught just abit of the news story on this, but I missed the webcam address. Thanks! 😀
Of course, when I tune in, I am treated to big, huge feathers. Well, at least it’s not eagle butt. 🙂
Aw, bad luck. I hope you stayed until the operator zoomed back out. He doesn’t stay zoomed on those feathers very long and only does it when there’s nothing else to see. There’s a night cam, too, so you can check in any time.
