Today, January 21, is National Hugging Day. (I know, I didn’t know either.) While the day was created to foster more public displays of emotion and affection (PDA), it’s something I was taught not to do. However, hugging and similar warm human contact is considered good for one’s emotional well-being. So hug somebody today. Preferably someone you know. After obtaining some indication of their consent. I don’t condone uninvited indiscriminate or profligate physical contact with complete strangers. In this day and age, that could be downright hazardous to your health.

Oh my gawd! I LOVE this post. Virtual hugs to you Type.
And to you, too. Even though it might not have the effect on your emotional well-being that the experts say comes from actual human touch.

Lovely post PT 🙂 We have an organisation called Guerilla Hugs. At times of national crisis – for example those awful riots we had last year in our big cities – they go around hugging people and being generally nice.
And you know what: it works.
I believe it. A little “nice” goes a long way in this world.
