Arizona: Pregnancy begins before conception

The war on women just took a bizarre new twist. Arizona has sent to the governor’s desk a bill that declares pregnancies in the state begin two weeks before conception.

According to the Huffington Post, “‘A sentence in the bill defines gestational age as “calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period of the pregnant woman,’ which would move the beginning of a pregnancy up two weeks prior to conception.”

  1. Look on the bright side. Somewhere, (but not around here any more) there are religious politicians who still burn witches.

  2. You’ve got to be kidding me. That state has some really bad water in it.

  3. Guess that means I’m pregnant! Oh joy!
