I don’t want to spoil the day for any true believers out there, but there’s a great parody over at The Freethinker, “Devils at the Door,” about door-to-door proselytizers (whom we all know and love). It includes the assertion, “I don’t need your facts when I have faith, and I don’t need your reason when I have reverence!” Doesn’t that just say it all? Thanks to IzaakMak for reblogging it and bringing it to my attention.
(Update, Aug. 17, 2013: The article no long appears on The Freethinker but is still available at seattlepi.com.)
Thanks for the plug PT. They really made the case didn’t they?!?! 😀
The author was, of course, preaching to the choir … so to speak.
truly brilliant… want the skeptical inquirer though… 🙂
Me too!
M has a t-shirt for those door-to-door proselytizers. It has a picture of Satan on the front and says, “God’s busy. May I help you?”
Just what I need. Although none have knocked on my door since I put up my No Soliciting sign. It hasn’t deterred anyone else, though.
