The west is always burning (I’m in California and a former Fire Ecologist, now a GIS Specialist). Both beautiful and terribly awesome (in the true sense of that word).

I’d post my own photos if I had the heart to go up there, but I don’t. Forest fires make me cry, especially burning in places I know and love.

I’m glad. I’m rather shocked that we didn’t have more fires than we did this summer. With the drought and all… I expected it to be a lot worse.
