Putin: The slips don’t lie

  1. Surprise? Putin keeps missing every opportunity to get into the history books as a great leader. He could be enhancing his country’s image in many ways. Two of the most important could be cooperation with others on nuclear disarmament and fighting global terrorism. Instead, he seems hellbent on acting as a terrorist, using deceit and threats as weapons. Strange man. Too bad he’s in charge of what could be a great nation at just the wrong time.

    1. Yes, Russia was making great strides toward becoming a modern nation, but Putin seems determined to squander all that progress by reverting to Cold War tactics.

  2. Way back in the 70s, my sister-in-law had this vicious little Chihuahua that barked its head off and went for my ankles every time I came anywhere near. Putin appears way more polished in his thousand dollar suits, but I’m still reminded of that dangerous little dog whenever I see him!

    1. He’s every bit as annoying as that dog, but he’s a whole lot bigger and stronger. It’s scary to contemplate what he could do if he ran completely off the rails.

        1. Look at where he came from – previous positions. If he sees an opening, it looks like he’s determined to revive the Soviet Union type government….he’s said statements indicating he want to restore Russia to glorious past….
Feeling likes backwards world these days
(Have you noticed WP acting quirky today?)

        2. I just hope we’re not the only ones in the world who don’t want to deal with a new soviet empire. But we’re going to have to do something more effective than issuing empty threats.

Earlier today I had trouble getting WordPress to load. Figured it was my bandwidth or router or something.

        3. Oh, they did, they did. The forums, anyway, have been stuffed with it the last few times I visited. I don’t understand how they can keep us relatively free of it but can’t keep it out of their own forums.

... and that's my two cents
