Lovely Longs

Lovely Longs Peak

Longs Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. This only a screenshot I grabbed this morning from a webcam. But something about it … the lighting … I’m not sure what … compels me to put it where I can keep and enjoy it. Here. Sorry about that. But it’s my favorite peak, doing its thing, and looking especially lovely I think.

  1. And you have actually stood on top of that Majestic Mountain! Beautiful contrasts in light/shadows plus the sharp peak edges/soft misty clouds. Makes me want to go see it in person (doesn’t take much for that, tho)

  2. That’s one thing lacking in Australia, we don’t have the beautiful mountains that you have, I think our tallest peak, Mt Kosciuszkois a bit over 7000′, nothing of the grandeur of your Yosemite park and RMNP Colorado

      1. Yes it is PT, we do have the Bungle Bungles in Western Australia which is quite fascinating and of course theres always Ayres Rock now known by the Aboriginal name of Uluru,. These are just gigantic rocks, Some quite unreal which is what you’d expect on the oldest continent on earth, a couple of links to give you some pictures of the Bungle Bungles and Uluru;

          1. Shhhhhhhhh PT you’re not allowed to say Ayers Rock, it’s not PC and will upset a few Aborigines, just a few; most have never heard of it never seen it and have no idea where it is, but that’s the way things are these days pamper to the few that have now taken over the ownership of the rock with the help and assistance of some smart non-aborignal entrepreneurs,and weak politicians! O_o o_O

... and that's my two cents
