Any resemblance is purely coincidental

  1. Trump is a master of filtering his message through the media, while inoculating himself against any negative perception that goes against the grain of the grift he happens to be running at the time. It’s a twofer for him.

He’ll plead innocent to practicing nothing but standard GOTV motivational techniques, while those lying loser horrible people of the press pack are obviously bias against the average Joe and Joan who support him.

Dollar to half a damn doughnut, this was carefully scripted and due diligently gamed out, to parlayed the cuts both ways potential in the “purely coincidental.”

    Good Catch

      1. All this “pledging” reminds me of old old gloom and doom traveling church groups that used to have big tent meetings that get very emotional – and ended with teenagers pledging to go “mixed bathing” (public swimming pools) or dance. Playing cards was probably in there, too.
We never went to those (but would see the tents) as dad always said it was wrong to get people emotionally stirred up and crowd influenced to make promises that wouldn’t be kept (and would make people feel guilty over stupid stuff)
Politics and religion have more behaviors in common than people realize or want to admit.
        And the circus continues….

        1. Guilt inducement. Isn’t that what religion does best? And politicians will try anything to get votes. I’ve always heard the only way you can reach the religious right and others who are willfully ignorant is through emotion. We’re certainly hearing a lot more emotion than reason and logic.

        2. Some of the overly trusting naive non religious are also easily swept up if the approach staged right. Ignorance was cited by the founders as a real threat to the country early on.
Too much staging and psychology – too little meat and cold facts. All the data collection/polling technology makes emotional appeals so much easier than offering real debate and actual statesman’s platforms.
