Times gone by: Glen Campbell

  1. Ugh, I’m never sure whether to “Like” posts like this because I don’t “like” it when someone passes. But I feel like the “Like” is a way of recognizing the passing of someone great. Excellent choice of song, too. Reminds me so much of my youth.

  2. I know what you mean about the passing of celebrities. I notice the same phenomenon when I read the Parade Magazine insert that comes with the Sunday paper. Its first feature has always been “Walter Scott’s Personality Parade” and it now often fails to list anyone I recognize. It’s an eerie feeling. I wonder how many young people are wondering who Glen Campbell was?

    1. It’s just another little piece of our lives falling by the wayside. When pieces enough have fallen …

Kids’ music today is so unlike Campbell’s songs, most probably wouldn’t like them even if they knew who he was. Which sounds a lot like what my parents said when rock and roll came around.

... and that's my two cents
