Isn’t that the truth! But his base has long since forgotten that and many other things that include common decency. So tragic really…so shameful

Yes. The presidency will never be what it once was. Trump has shattered the illusion that great responsibility endows an ordinary man with extraordinary wisdom. He remains the same crass, narcissistic demagogue he always was.
Nixon shattered my illusions about the presidency. Trump’s election shattered my illusions about Americans.
