What has happened to Rudy Giuliani? In the wake of 9/11 he was heralded as “America’s Mayor.” Everyone admired his calm, steady leadership after one of the greatest tragedies in American history. Time Magazine named him Person of the Year in 2001.
These days, as Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, he seems to have become even crazier than his boss. He rants, he raves, he contradicts others and himself. Speaking colloquially, he seems to have gone off his rocker, gone around the bend, lost it.
The whistleblower’s complaint mentions him 31 times. And his response? “When this is over, I will be the hero.”
We’ll see, Rudy. We’ll see.
Tribalism. That’s what it seems like to me. I think Rudy has always been Rudy, but like his current client he is a populist, avidly chasing the current popular role. After 9/11, he was NYC’s attack dog, leading the charge against terrorism. Very popular, even if that frenzy led to attacking the wrong enemy and damaging world peace. Joseph McCarthy was another such guy. Bottom line, some leaders are thoughtful, wise and hold their cards close. Then there are those like Rudy and Donald. The word “demagogue” comes to mind.
I figured it was a “birds of a feather” thing. Trump wanted to hire someone just like himself, and I think he succeeded.
Frankly, I was thinking both Rudy and Donald are cut from the same cloth- petty NYC crooks.
They are both delusional and I think that will take them both down sooner or later.
Love the yellow teeth in the comic.
Not to mention the tiny size, wild eyes, and jumping up and down.
