Taking a cue from Donald Trump, who loves to distract from unflattering news by creating his own news, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped up a copy of Trump’s State of the Union address last night while he was still at the podium.
“He shredded the truth, so I shredded his speech,” Pelosi reportedly said this morning.
I really love that woman.
She certainly knows how to play the game.
Yes it is fun to watch her in action.
The right-wing media are calling Pelosi’s shredding a “tantrum” and otherwise deplorable. I agree with her, fight fire with fire, out of patience. But, let’s face it, Russia and Trump have succeeded in shattering the unity that once made the United States great. We gradually recovered it after the Civil War, mainly because of WW II, but what is going to unite us after this? I am not optimistic.
I share your pessimism. I’m afraid it will take another 9/11 or world war to reunite the country.
