Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving

      1. Sounds like Camelot. That’s where:

“A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there’s a legal limit to the snow here
        In Camelot.
The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
        In Camelot.
        Camelot! Camelot!
I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
        But in Camelot, Camelot
        That’s how conditions are.
The rain may never fall till after sundown.
By eight, the morning fog must disappear.
        In short, there’s simply not
        A more congenial spot
        For happily-ever-aftering than here
        In Camelot.”

  1. it’s a beautiful (semi chilly) morning in the neighborhood. I’m gonna go mow if I get my mower blades on right.
And I just saw a couple neighbors riding by on bikes. guess they’re working off lunch a bit early in prep (hee hee).

      1. I’m getting some arbor day foundation trees (the bare root ones) delivered soon so I gotta chop the high grass down so I can mark where I want them and not measure a hundred times (again). Then I can dig a prep hole and have things ready to go. Of course, I might not be able to mow if I can’t get the blades on right (they’re sharp and I’ll need to find my good gloves so I don’t cut myself), and my neighbor might have to help since he got them taken off in the first place. Either way, a lot of reading and other cleaning I can do. Dunno if weather will hold up after all.

  2. And the same to you, Susan. The wife and I will dine alone today, but will be connected electronically as well. Digital invention is near the top of our Thankful list this season. Best wishes to you and yours!

  3. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving.
I remember pictures like that and always wished our family would pull out the fine china and have picture perfect feast. But we always ended up in jeans, sometimes using the cast iron claw footed stove to add cooking space to the farm house kitchen area’s small stove. No TV so family gathering entertainment was conversation on the porch if warm enough or wandering through fields and woods. Now that all sounds just as luxurious.
You are right: Calories do not count on Thanksgiving
And the snow pix from family there are beautiful!
However Denver’s mayor is not so beautiful after lecturing everyone to stay safe and stay home and follow the COVID rules/mandates 35 min before he stepped on a. plane for Houston then on the Mississippi to meet and greet family at a big dinner there….(all my CO family are closed up at their homes – following the rules.) Thankful for term limits.

    1. As far as I’m concerned, Hancock has ended his career in politics. He said he thought it was better if he traveled to his wife and daughter instead of vice versa. Nobody should have traveled! He said he let his heart get ahead of his head. Like the rest of us don’t have hearts and want to be with our families just as much as he does! The man is dead to me.
