Haunted by a song

  1. I was born in 64 so most Vietnam-era photos, news, etc, is just a wisp of a memory for me (although I am a big fan of the music). But there is just enough I do remember that I can “feel” this song and video. I never expected to see DC treated this way. Never expected to see the lies go so deep. And a sitting president become a traitor – and should be charged with treason. We’ve tossed around the word “treason” loosely for years, from both sides, never really expecting it to happen – used more to make a point than to claim it happened. But with trump, I firmly believe he committed treason. “…the crime of betraying one’s country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.” That is exactly what trump tried to do. And his loyalists.

  2. I never expected it either. I’m content with the charge of “incitement of insurrection,” since no foreign powers were involved. The House had to formulate charges that had a chance of getting a conviction from the Senate. Mostly I just want him convicted and barred from ever again holding federal office. With any luck, civil lawyers will see that he ends up in jail for tax evasion or something similar.

  3. johnthecook…lest we forget the song “Teach Your Children” by Crosby, Stills, Nash. Young” is also most appropriate as “For What it’s Worth”. When children are not taught good and appropriate moral values, there will be unintended consequences. Both sides of the Political spectrum are at fault. Shame on us!
