Getting kids to read

In my experience (speaking as a former kid), one of the best ways to get kids to read is to tell them the book has been banned. Or, now that I think about it, tell them the book is for “adults only.” Curiosity is a great motivator. And reverse psychology is a proven parental technique.

    1. Oh, me too. Just yesterday I looked up a list of books that have been banned, since it’s been in the news. Not that I was planning to read them, but I was curious if I had read them … and why they were banned. I’d read some of them but remember very little about any of them.

... and that's my two cents
