This gif of wildfire smoke spreading across the US appeared in the New York Times yesterday. Certainly we’ve had more than our share of it in Denver this month, and most of the country is sick of seeing it and breathing it.
That aside, the image looks to me more like flames. It looks for all the world like the nation is burning. And sadly, in one way or another, it is.
it certainly is
It’s so upsetting, moreso because it seems there’s nothing I can do about it except stay out of the way … and vote.
Strangely, our summer here in MO has been, so far, good this year, decent rainfall and no heat waves. I’ve had the thought that it might be because we are in between the heat in the West and the rain in the East. Hope saying this doesn’t bust our luck!
I won’t tell a soul. Hope your good luck continues.
The air quality here in Reno is horrible. The weather service is now including a smoke forecast with the daily weather news …
We are getting daily air quality warnings, too. But you are even closer to the source. Doesn’t seem to matter where the fires are; the smoke always seems to find Denver.
It’s been pretty bad here in Albuquerque. And not even from any NM fires. Mainly AZ and CO.
They say most of our smoke is from Oregon.
Most of ours comes from AZ.
It’s beginning to look like anything west of here is contributing our mess. I think Calif’s Dixie Fire is now getting most of the blame/credit.
We surely don’t need the smoke.
I’m all for stopping the fires that are causing the smoke.
