I almost forgot my usual summer post about the live streaming bear cam at Brooks Falls, Katmai National Park, Alaska. The bears and the salmon are still at it, although the website says June and July are the big months.
Hungry bears catching spawning salmon, with gulls waiting for the scraps. All to the soothing sound of an ice-cold waterfall. A great summer escape for those of us beaten down by heat, smoke, politics, covid, etc. Wish I could charter a big jet and fly everybody up there. What a hoot that would be!
And if you’re new here, read more about these bears in past posts.
thank you for this, I love the bear cam !
Wish I’d remembered it sooner. Apparently we’re in the waning days of the season.
Bears!!! love it.
It looks so cool up there. I’m jealous.
I WANT TO GO THERE SO BADLY!! I looked into it but it’s an event that you have to plan and make reservations years in advance.
Damn, I hadn’t thought about that. It figures, of course. I used to routinely make reservations a year in advance for a cabin in Estes Park.
