Oops, I did it again

  1. I just purchased a new domain “angleOfTheDangle.co. Yes, .co not .com. The .com was taken, but for sale via a broker. Yeah, I don’t think so. I decided I want to put up a blog of just light-hearted, fun stuff. But I don’t even have time for Motley News so who am I kidding? But I’ve been using the premium themes and will continue to do so.

The reason for the new name… I was chatting to my “neighbor” (our trump-loving-far-right-bible-thumping-hypocrite-not-so-handyman who has parked his trailer in our side lot) and he was showing me this monster smoker someone gave him – weighs like 600 lbs. The lid is difficult to raise so it’s on a counter-weight system, but it’s not properly balanced. He said it had something to do with the “angle of the dangle” of the counter-weight, and I thought I was going to pee my pants I laughed so hard. It just has a humorous rhythm and rhyme that stuck in my head. I guess it’s used as humor among fishermen, too. And I can think of a few other references that are not PG-related. After hearing that, though, I decided I wanted a blog with that name. I love humor – especially humor in life – so decided to go for it. Will use WordPress again, although I now build websites for a living (a very specific type of site). But I’ve been happy, for the most part, with WordPress, and it just makes blogging easy. So will stay with it.

  2. Yikes! I know that feeling all too well! Glad you found your way back. I tried to start up a side blog for the grandkids, but simply couldn’t cope. Sigh. Seems that the brain is getting slower and having a MUCH harder time dealing with change as I’m pushing toward 78!!! 🥴

    1. Well, I actually am 78, and it’s distressing trying to deal with and keep up with all the changes. All the tech stuff I used to manage easily is getting harder and more frustrating. I just got a new smartwatch and there are times I wonder why I added even more techy stuff to my life.

      1. I’m sure my iMac is considered “vintage” these days and I worry about it crashing whereupon I might be forced to learn a whole new set of challenges. I’m definitely not planning to upgrade the camera… it may be getting close to ten years old, but I still haven’t learned all the bells and whistles… or if I DO figure something out, what are the chances I’ll remember the next time?
Getting older certainly presents some challenges. 🤨

        1. Yep, my MacBook is a mid-2012 model. The worst thing that can happen is the cat walks across the keyboard and triggers … something. Then I have to figure out what he did and undo it. At other times I have to call my son and ask him how to fix it, because it was previously his computer. And you are so right — I never remember it the next time.
