Webcams from Rocky Mountain NP to Pikes Peak

These are the best Colorado webcams from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, south along the Peak-to-Peak Highway to Nederland, then to Boulder, Denver, and Pikes Peak — the highlights of Colorado’s Front Range. Some of these cameras are live streaming and the others update at various intervals. If you know of a great webcam in this area that should be included, please let me know . Thanks!

This magnificent mass of granite is Longs Peak, highest point in Rocky Mountain National Park. It rises to 14,259 feet and has a flat, boulder-strewn summit the size of a football field. The sheer vertical portion of its east face, seen here, is called The Diamond for obvious reasons. It is almost 1,000 feet high. I’ve grabbed many screenshots from this camera, but I love the lighting in this one.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Morning sun warms the East Face of Longs Peak (elev. 14,259 ft, highest peak in RMNP). That’s Mt. Lady Washington in the clouds on the right. For an idea of scale: the flat summit of Longs is about the size of a football field.

Dawn at the Alpine Visitor Center (elev. 11,796 ft, looking east down the Fall River drainage toward Estes Park). That’s Old Fall River Road coming up the canyon on the left.

On the west side of the park, the Never Summer Range rises above the Kawuneeche Valley.

Construction continues at the Fall River/ US 34 entrance. These visitors are letting someone else do the driving.

Here you see the Y-shaped couloirs that give Ypsilon Mountain its name. Live streaming from Windcliff

From Estes Park to Ward

Lily Lake is just to the left (Hwy 7, elev. 8,930 ft, looking north). Parking gets tight on weekends and holidays.

Looking south along Hwy 72, north of Ward. Another good webcam for foliage checks. The area just south of Ward is great for autumn leaf peeping.

Niwot Ridge, Nederland, and Boulder

View from the TundraCam (located NW of Nederland at 11,600 ft). Live streaming and controllable. May be offline due to vagaries of weather, altitude, and distance. Peaks in the James Peak Wilderness are visible on the horizon just right of center. Pikes Peak, approximately 90 miles away, is faintly visible on the left horizon, directly below the “e” in “Ridge” at the top of the picture.

Rediscovered or back again, I’m not sure which, but this Nederland weather cam view of the Indian Peaks wilderness has long been one of my favorites. The view refreshes every 60 seconds and is particularly good for watching sunsets (remember, it’s the mountain time zone).

Live streaming Boulder Creek cam near downtown Boulder. Dogs, sunbathers, bikes, geese, squirrels, campers, fishermen, joggers, etc. Or just zoom in and watch the tranquil riffles in the stream.

Boulder has live streaming and rotating cams at four of its major intersections. Some of the views includ e the foothills.

This is looking west from a weather station about a half mile south of me. The mountains are barely visible through the left-most gap in the trees.

From Denver to Colorado Springs & Pikes Peak

Looking toward the plains from the summit of Lookout Mtn in Golden. Multiple webcams here offer new views every few minutes, per a note from the local CBS station.

If you are approaching Estes Park from the south on Hwy 7 and are headed to the park, you can take Marys Lake Road (map) to avoid the congestion in downtown Estes.
