
This week the afternoon showers we’ve been having along our Front Range have started turning to snow in our highest elevations. This is the summit of Pikes Peak, elev. 14,115′, this afternoon. That sound you hear is our winter sports lovers prepping their gear.

Down here the casual surfers are just beginning to think life might return to normal ere long .. 🙂
Fall has long been my favorite season, so the surfers and skiers will just have to do without me.
Hopefully it will be a long winter with lots of snow.

Actually saw snow there briefly a few days back, but I can’t remember for sure how long ago it was.
I like seasons! There’s always a newness to the phenomenon.
I lived in Atlanta for a couple of years, and what they call seasons didn’t work for me. I like a definite difference, although summer needn’t hit three digits to prove itself.
