If wishes were horses, this subpoena would have been issued, say, a month ago, so the scheduled testimony date, Nov. 14, would fall before the November 8 election. But regardless, I don’t expect the Conspirator-in-Chief to ever appear and testify anywhere at any time. He will be a no-show; he will send his lawyers in his place; he will claim immunity, false accusations, Fifth Amendment rights, unwarranted attacks. He most certainly will not turn over any documents. It’s going to be ugly and drawn out seemingly forever. But if there is any justice in this world, he will ultimately be convicted of crimes against the nation, against the very democracy that allowed him the freedom to get away with so much for so long. Conspiracy, sedition, and insurrection must not go unpunished.

I couldn’t agree more. MUST NOT GO UNPUNISHED. What kind of message would that send to the rest of the world ?! I understand that the feet-dragging and general reluctance springs from the fact that the (_¤_) was ‘the President’; but trotw doesn’t actually see him as that – as don’t most Dems.

It was good to see Cheney (yesterday on Meet the Press) assure viewers that trump would not be allowed to use a live televised appearance for his “circus”. So he will likely refuse, take it to the next level of confrontation/adjudication, and continue to fling feces like the monkey that he is. What a relief it will be when he is finally gone.
This time he doesn’t get to make the rules. But the committee needs to move faster, as they will surely be disbanded in January if the GOP takes over. The man is a cancer in our society and needs to be removed.
trump will never go in front of the committee and testify. I’m just waiting for Garland to indict him, which will hopefully happen shortly after the elections next week. The DOJ has recently brought in David Raskin. Raskin is considered one of the most accomplished terrorism prosecutors of his generation. Altho trump isn’t up against terrorism charges, Raskin is well known for national security/espionage cases, too. It is strongly looking like trump will be indicted. Hopefully sooner than later.
