No calories!

Concerned that my pup Charlie might be gaining a bit too much weight (Labs are notorious for that), I decided to check the calorie count on peanut butter, his favorite treat stuffed into a Kong and frozen. I can’t imagine now what I entered for my search, but the first thing that came up was this nutrition breakdown from the University of Rochester Medical Center. Talk about TMI! And yet, no calories! Zero, zilch, nada.

Somehow, though, I don’t think this means there are no calories in peanut butter. And I think cutting back on Charlie’s peanut butter ration might still be a good idea.

As long as there’s something in there, Charlie doesn’t care about calories.

Yes, yes, I know the calories are listed right on the jar, but that would have required getting off the couch and going to the kitchen, and I wasn’t in the mood at the time.

  1. I completely understand watching calories and not getting off the couch just to get more information. I know, really, my couch is close to 18 feet from the kitchen – that’s a long walk … 😉
