Estes Park photographer Erik Stensland captures a lot of magnificent images in Rocky Mountain National Park, but my favorites are always the quiet, misty ones where clouds seem to shut out the rest of the world so you can enjoy a private moment of reverie. “Like a Dream” captures Dream Lake on a quiet, cloud-shrouded day. You can see this image on Erik’s website, along with much of his other work. If you’re in Estes, be sure to stop by his gallery, Images of RMNP, across the street north of Bond Park.
(Note: I later received a copy of this photograph as a gift, and Stensland’s note on the back said the storm building in this picture is the one that, the next day, brought Northern Colorado’s historic September 2013 floods.)
Estes is one of my favorite places! Thanks for sharing this!
My pleasure. Estes and RMNP are my favorite places in the world and have been for well over 60 years.
Thanks for posting his pictures. He’s a great photographer!
It’s pure self-indulgence on my part. Escapism when I can’t get to the mountains. Enjoyment of photos I can’t afford to buy. Etc. I think this is my new favorite.
Getting your readers to linger and relax for a moment should be on your list too 😉
Heh, you keep coming back to this photo too, eh?
