Not all of us enjoy Halloween. Or maybe the carver was just trying to be different and do a scary pumpkin instead of witches, zombies, spiders, etc.
It occurred to me while looking at this really great picture that our culture should adopt some sort of tradition where you put some sort of object out on your front porch reflecting your daily mood. Something, you know, that would reflect to passer-byes and potential visitors the atmosphere in the home at that time. I’m guessing under those circumstances that pumpkin would be on my porch most of the year… 🙂
