By now everyone has heard about and seen pictures of the newly opened Sphere in Las Vegas. It’s amazing, no doubt. It has a bajillion lights or lasers or something on it that allow it to appear as … almost anything.

Earth and the Moon are my favorites. The eyeball is just yucky. Eww. I hate it. But I can only imagine how many great things somebody has dreamed up that I haven’t seen. I wonder how many traffic jams it’s caused?
And then there’s this. My son and his wife are going to Vegas in a few weeks to see his all-time favorite band playing his all-time favorite album in the Sphere. U2 playing Achtung Baby, and probably a lot more. I’m insanely jealous. Oh, and he sent this:

My problem with it is that I want it to be only the moon ..
I agree. Of the options I’ve seen so far, that’s the clear winner.
I saw it still being built when in Vegas last spring. I’ve never seen anything like it
I really want to see it just for an idea of size. And I can’t even imagine the inside, with room enough for a concert.
Right!
Amazing! Only in America. This is what we’re doing, even while the population is politically split, the government is dysfunctional, immigration is out of control, a proxy war is ongoing and another is starting. Only in America.
Lately I’ve been watching the Spielberg WWII series, “Band of Brothers” on Netflix. How different from those times things are now, and yet, how people are the same. It’s like a science-fiction world now.
I must be the only person who hasn’t heard of it. It’s pretty cool.
