Last night I watched the Democratic National Convention. With varying degrees of attention. (I was running a video game at the same time.) There were a lot of speakers that I didn’t know or care about. Some I barely watched at all; others were quite good. (Don’t ask me for names. I wasn’t taking notes.)
I was concerned when I heard Pres. Biden wasn’t scheduled to appear until 9:30 (?) Central time or Mountain time (?) or thereabouts. He told his staff several weeks ago not to schedule anything after 8 pm and I feared we might see another debate-style debacle. As it turned out, he did pretty well, though by the time he finally appeared, I was tired.
I was watching on CNN and expected afterwards to switch over and watch Stephen Colbert’s live post-convention show on CBS.
Nope. That put me in the middle of what appeared to be “NCIS: Sydney.” I looked everywhere I could think of. Both CBS and Paramount+ listed “The Late Show” in that time slot but nevertheless were airing “NCIS: Sydney.” If you found yourself in the same situation, check Paramount+ today. You can watch a video of last night’s Colbert.
Anyway, confused old woman here. Since I finally found the Colbert video this morning, I’m assuming I can do the same thing for the rest of the convention. Or maybe if I watch the convention on CBS …
I dunno. I’m beginning to think the (inadvertent) purchase of a “smart” tv was a bridge too far.

I was just looking for the 10pm news- Biden was talking when i clicked on ch 9. When finally over it was some other show, no news. Didn’t even think to look for Colbert. Guess i’ll go to bed early all this week.
Yep, I just clicked from NBC to CBS, expecting news at 10:00 and then Colbert. Instead, an episode of “FBI” was just starting. If they’d just post an accurate schedule, I wouldn’t mind so much. But apparently, with no explanation that I’ve found, the networks are pausing for two hours of convention coverage and then resuming their regular schedule, which I guess means Colbert comes on sometime after midnight. Ridiculous, considering most of the regular network shows are currently in summer reruns.
I just discovered that at least ABC (Denver 7) is actually running 10:00 news at 10:00. Hurray!
Aha, it’s 11 pm and I just checked CBS. They were doing the local news. So I assume Colbert will start at 11:30. And if that’s the case, then it will probably be their schedule through Thursday night.
Confirming: Colbert started at 11:20. I think I can handle that.
