ACTA, the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, was voted down yesterday by the European parliament, 478-39. The international agreement would have had much broader effects than America’s SOPA/PIPA and was being negotiated in secret, raising the suspicions, ire, and opposition of the Internet community.
