Gotta love owls! (Apparently there’s a bunch being turned into animal shelters now that Harry Potter interest is slowing….seems some bought them as pets….They are wild animals people – leave them alone, please)
How sad. I hadn’t heard that. I thought there were laws about owning raptors (and licenses required). Of course, said laws probably neglected to address the divestiture of said raptors. Politicians got their brownie points with the wildlife lobby and Joe Blow got to indulge his Potter fantasies for a while. Only the owls paid a price.
That email probably came out of the UK where the laws regarding raptors are less restrictive. There, you can’t carry a gun, but you can own an owl… Go figure.

Oops, yes, I just assumed it was in the US. England would make more sense. What a shame anyone is allowed to own a wild animal or bird.
