Well, hallelujah. It’s April 8, 2013, and that means I’ve been 70 years old for almost an hour now. I don’t feel any different, physically, but emotionally, that’s something else. I don’t know whether to celebrate that I’ve managed to survive this long, and with relatively few health problems, or just hole up and drown my sorrows in … a 2-liter bottle of Diet Sprite and a video game (currently “Dishonored”).
Got to wondering what a cake with 70 candles might look like. Found one that looked like it would burn the house down. 
Probably the reason for the extinguisher in the background. I think the second cake is lovely.
My daughter-in-law and granddaughter are taking me out for dinner and I’m hoping it’s something modest like McDonald’s or maybe the new Hu Hot Mongolian Grill that they like. The DIL is the type who might very well produce a cake with a full 70-candle complement. I can’t help but think restaurants would frown on a bonfire in their establishment. Personally, I’d just as soon skip the festivities. I’ve never liked being the center of attention for any reason.
Let this geezer give you some life advice, kid. This is the main stuff you need to know and it comes in two parts:
1. If you don’t use it, you lose it.
2. Always dry between your toes.
That’s it. 😀
Well, some of us can reach our toes and some of us can’t … 🙂

With your granddaughter along, that is a reason to celebrate! Rather than restaurant, maybe takeout & drive up high(er) for a quick evening picnic? Happy Birthday, PT, glad you’re on the blog! 🙂
