After some weeks of contemplation, I’ve decided to change themes. It’s a huge decision this time, because there will be no going back. Beacon, the theme you’ve been seeing for a number of years, has been retired by WordPress. If I change my mind about the new one, there will be lots of others to choose from. But Beacon will be gone forever.
I’m hoping to learn and make better use of the new design system WordPress introduced a few years ago: the Gutenberg block editor. At the very least it will be a change, a bit of fresh air along with the inevitable frustration.
Bear with me while chaos reigns …
(Well, that was relatively painless. If any old, long-forgotten posts have been messed up, they’ll just have to stay that way. I’m not going back through 20 years’ worth of posts to fix them. Oh, and if you’re looking for the search box, widgets, etc., click the ellipses in the top right corner of the screen by the menu.)
Good luck! I changed my theme a few years ago… it actually went more smoothly than I feared. The good news is that you can futz with it before going live.
I’ve changed occasionally and really regretted it. This time it went so smoothly I’m wondering what I missed!
Looks nice!
Glad you like it. I really needed a breath of fresh air.
