Yesterday in Boulder, this (above) was the scene along Boulder Creek near downtown. Lots of socializing and sunbathing on an 86° afternoon.
Twenty-four hours later, this was the scene, with the temperature hovering near freezing:
An abnormally late storm bringing snow and cold. Gotta love it. That stuff falling from the sky is WET and that’s what it’s all about. Around here it’s supposed to keep going till tomorrow night — I hope! — giving us some inches of snow, unlike the high country where it will be measured in feet. The only complaints are coming, understandably, from those who had outdoor activities planned. Weddings and graduations and the like.
Wow, that’s amazing. I guess it’s hard to plan any outdoor activity until… maybe June?
I dunno. I’ve been snowed on in July up on Trail Ridge Road. Summer months could mean thunderstorms, hail, lightning, tornadoes. You pays your money and you takes your chances around here.
Yikes! Well, I guess we have wildfire season year-round here.
Here too, unfortunately. The drought is bad, awful, or horrendous depending on which part of the state you’re in.

Looking out my windows I’d have to say we didn’t get nearly as much snow as was predicted. But it was wet most of the day yesterday and there’s an inch or two melting off this morning. Every little bit helps.
Glad you were able to get some moisture though the extreme sudden weather changes do seem unsettling sometimes. We actually got a few sprinkles the other morning but doesn’t make much difference in the scheme of our SoCal drought. Still, as you se, every little bit helps.
Like you, we need weeks of rainy weather to get back to normal, and that just doesn’t happen in Colorado. But I’m grateful for whatever we get.
