While many of our mountain roads lack guardrails, this one does not. No reason for straddling the center line when approaching a blind curve. I’d be more concerned about a car approaching from the other direction.
I’ve driven that particular road many times and it’s lovely, actually. Long scenic sightlines, gentle sweeping curves. I have been on some, to me, really scary roads and this one doesn’t come close.
