Pictures of silly mistakes or inexplicable situations have long been a source of entertainment on the internet. But AI and deep fakes have arrived and now more than ever we have to wonder “Did this really happen, or is it just a manipulated image?”
I pulled these pictures off one of those websites that scrolls endlessly in order to keep feeding ads, and eventually I got tired of the game. Nevertheless, I can use an occasional chuckle. Or at least a smile. And I did actually chuckle out loud (COL?) at the last two pictures below.

If you are a glutton for this sort of thing, head over to the source. There’s an endless stream.

AI is an anathema to me. It should be to everyone: it has done nothing more than – as pointed up by you, Colorado – create scepticism.
Well, it should create skepticism. My concern is that it does not, and that too many people are too easily taken in. Not nearly enough critical thinking on social media. I’m still adjusting, still constantly having to remind myself that, hey, that picture might not be real. Once upon a time, a picture was (usually) the absolute proof of something.
Many of these are truly funny, but yes some are faked. Still, I like to check them out and see if I can tell the difference.
Usually, if I’m just looking for a laugh, I don’t care if they’re fake (if they’re well done). But if it purports to be journalism, truth, it had better be real and unaltered.
There are so many faked knitting pictures making the rounds now along with cat themed furniture. People are so eager to acquire the pattern (or furniture) in the comments and I am … faked, you guys. Calm down. You cannot get a 10 foot bed shaped like a cat…
LOL. I wouldn’t have room for it anyway.
The drawers made me laugh. 😀
They’re great, aren’t they. Real or fake (they look very real), they’re very clever — or stupid, depending.
I agree, they’re very funny, and they look real to me. 🙂
