I can’t believe it’s been five years since I last posted “Long Live Pets,” possibly my all-time favorite video. If you love dogs, if rescuing and adopting dogs is something you support, you must love this little video. Every dog shown is an adopted rescue dog. The dogs’ loving owners — some 25,000 — submitted photos for possible use in the video.
In the years since I first posted this video in 2015, the sponsors’ pages (Nature’s Variety Instinct and Best Friends Animal Society) have changed and no longer include background details about the dogs and the making of the video. Or even a mention of the video. (Yes, I know it’s a commercial, but it’s so much more than that.)
I hope to keep the video alive, if only because just watching it makes me happy all over again. I finally figured out how to download and save it, and how to post it on YouTube. As far as I can tell, it’s currently available on only one other YouTube channel. So now there are two.
Long live dogs!

Very nice.
Thank you. Rescues mean a lot to me.
Now, that video took a lot of work getting those photos in the order they did.
LOVE IT!
Yes, a lot of work and creativity. Great concept. I love the music too. It really makes me sad that the ad was used so briefly.
ImALibertarian sent this pic of his rescue, Scout. Good boy, Scout!
