‘Twas a good day

  1. johntthecook…have you ever heard of “the false angles of light”? I fear that is exactly what is awaiting NYC. Apparently, the eligible voters in NYC do not realize the disaster and misery that awaits them in the weeks, months and years to come. They have voted and elected a Socialists who is an Islamic sympathizer as Mayor of NYC. Free Bus rides? On whose dime? Massive government subsidized programs? Who do they think is going to pay for them?
Do they even know the agenda of this type of government? If someone could only enact Shri-Law in Venezuela, this is what I fear will happen in NYC. The subtlety of it all will creep in like a pox. This is my opinion. This will definitely NOT Make America Great Again!

    1. I’m aware of all the warnings and concerns, but we’ll just have to see how it works out. I don’t for a minute believe he’ll be able to accomplish all he’s promised, but his youth, enthusiasm, ambition, and drive for change are generating hope. So what if he’s a Muslim. This is a free country. I’ve no issue with anyone’s religious beliefs as long as they don’t try to impose it on me. Anything and everything he wants to do will have to get through a city council and goodness knows what local laws and ordinances. He can’t do it all by himself. Right now we need a little more socialism, a lot less less autocracy and plutocracy. The richest nation (and some of the richest individuals) in the world can afford to be more generous with our neediest citizens.

    1. I can’t say why exactly but I rather like Fetterman. He seems like an honest guy who stands up for his beliefs and principles, is liked by his constituents, and keeps overcoming physical challenges that would have stopped many lesser men.

I like that Mamdani showed us a younger man can get elected. I’m ready to vote for Buttegieg in 2028.
