“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in.
A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.”
~ William E. Vaughan
Me? I’m too old to stay up that late. I leave it to you …

And to set the mood, allow me to suggest this post entitled “walking into the new year with peace.”
PEACE, EVERYONE

johnthecook…most everyone wants peace, and there are those who diligently seek peace, but real “everlasting peace” will never happen until the “Prince of Peace” returns. Isiah 9:6-7.
Happy New Year, John. Wishing you all the best in the months to come.
johnthecook..Thank You PiesType. I still enjoy your column and try not to be overbearing or disrespectful in my reply and or rebuttal to you your comments. You run a tight ship, and I feel privileged to be allowed to comment or YOUR blog. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family.
Now you’re making me blush! ☺️
Peace-wise, things began to downhill with the discovery of agriculture and the invention of property ownership some 10,000 years ago. I’m not holding my breath waiting for change to that.
Nor I. I love Lennon’s song “Imagine’ but it’s just that, imagination, a dream.
Nevertheless Jim, here’s wishing you a happy, healthy new year!
Same to you, Susan.
Is that your Beth ? – it’s a wonderful post, Colorado. I shall look at her with new eyes.
I wouldn’t call her “my” Beth, but she’s worth following. How she manages to post something every day is beyond me, but it’s always something interesting and uplifting.
Brilliant ( and ditto from here) Cheers and onward
(And my , your blog style choice looks so stylish . Nice! You make me feel a but lazy…maybe this yearn updated version….but don’t hold your breath.) Happy New Year (ltardy but still with meaning. HAHAHAHA)
“Stylish” is, I think, a bonus conferred by the dark background? I like the look, but it came about only as a defensive measure against the glare of a white screen. (Glaucoma makes glare worse, and I spend way too much time looking at screens as it is … )
Happy New Year to you, too! (It’s only the 2nd. We can still say that.)
