Twilight Zone is perfect for this. The guy surely has supernatural help of some kind (Beelzebub?) having turned his noggin at just the right instant to avoid a bullet and been allowed to run the con of his lifetime, twice! OR maybe he’s just the useful idiot sock puppet of the dark forces seeking to destroy the Land of the Free.
Either way. as the kids like to say, this timeline sucks!
I think it was a legitimate assassination attempt. But I’ve resented the reporting that kept saying he’d been shot when in fact he was only grazed. He sure didn’t mind the attention it generated.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find that ordinary Americans feel as if they’re living in someone’s horrible television script.
