You’ve probably seen a lot of mirrors in your life, but I’ll bet you haven’t seen this one.
Is this crazy or what?

I was browsing the newest photos from Erik Stensland, my all-time favorite photographer, and came across this mind-bending image. Just when I thought he’d captured every pine and pond in Rocky Mountain National Park, he found this. On his website, Images of RMNP, he describes it as a “perfectly still alpine tarn.” Indeed. It’s a near-flawless mirror, a rare gift from Mother Nature.
Click the image to enlarge it, or enjoy it on Erik’s website.
Meanwhile, I still can’t look at it without thinking it’s upside down … or something.
For the curious:

That’s just amazing.
He consistently produces gorgeous photos, but this one just blows my mind.
that’s a once in a lifetime experience right there, beautiful
Seriously, what were the chances? He could go back there a hundred times and never find it that still again. Luckily for us, he got the shot.
Shades of Mark Smith’s ospreys, Colorado – well, when I say that, I just mean fantastic and mind-bending photography. 🙂
I had to remind myself who Mark Smith is, so clicked randomly on one of his videos. Mesmerizing! We are so blessed to have Stensland and Smith reminding us of the beauty and wonder that still exists all around us and must be protected.
wow –
Yep, that sums it up.
