Dogs. What a great reason for a celebration. I can’t imagine not having a dog, and with only brief intervals, I’ve never been without one.
This is Charlie, current king of my realm, celebrating his day:

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” — Josh Billings
“Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It’s without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.” — Rodger A. Caras
“Dogs’ lives are too short. Their only fault, really.” — Agnes Sligh Turnbull
“The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven not man’s.” — Mark Twain
“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.” — Samuel Butler
Bless ’em all!

Sadly, I can’t get my cats excited about National Dog Day …
Yeah, my cat isn’t thrilled either. Bad enough having a dog in the house, but giving him a whole special day is just madness.
I love dogs. I’m a cat person, but I love dogs.
G’day there, Charlie !! 🙂
Well, there’s a National Cat Day on October 29 in the US. Google says other countries celebrate it on other days. Your kitty sit on your keyboard, or have you changed your login name?
(Charlie says, “Woof.” Rowdy is sulking in the other room.)
Only I could hit a repeat key and not notice till too late … 🙁
LOL. That’s what I thought except I also thought commenters’ names were filled in automatically.
let’s go!!
I’m going to need a bigger car for all those dogs …
