WordPress includes a ratings feature that can be enabled on one’s blog. Either a five-star rating or a thumbs up or down rating. I’ve had it enabled for almost two months, and garnered all of 5 votes. Because it adds clutter to the page and because the ratings mean vary little without a decent amount of votes, I decided to disable it. It could be argued that if I left it up for a year or two, it might begin to be representative. But I doubt it, since I’d be continually diluting the pool with more posts.
Tsk, tsk. Spare me your howls of protest and indignation. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, right?
I’m definitely with you on this one. The only reason I left that feature enabled was so that those who didn’t want to leave a comment would have a less “labor intensive” way to respond. Besides, the new WordPress “Like” feature has more or less made this one redundant, I think. 😕
It’s depressing enough having few readers and fewer comments. I don’t need to see even lower numbers on ratings doodads.
