WP borders and margins are back

Whether they buckled under pressure or had it in mind all along, we’ll probably never know. But it appears that WordPress has reinstituted border and margin settings in our image editors. They’ve even added a nice tool for selecting border colors. Interesting how there has been no announcement about it other than the usual passing mention in the forums. But then, I don’t recall ever getting formal announcements about such things.

Check it out. I’m sure you’ll be pleased. And thank you, WordPress. See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?

WPimagedetails
See? There they are, settings for Image Border and Image Margins. O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! (Sorry about that “1” in there for border width. I was working on something and failed to remove it for the screenshot.)
WPcoloroptions
If you click on the “Color” block after Image Border, you get this nice color tool to play with.

  1. Yes, I noticed it about an hour ago, when I went into advanced to click to also-unannounced restitution of the ‘open in another window’ box. 🙂 Thought of you, but decided you’d find it without my help. As you did, Susan.

    1. I noticed that box was back. I also noticed they did not return all the color options for text. I suppose we should be grateful for what we got. (I hate having to be grateful for the return of something that should never have been taken away in the first place.)

    1. I thinks borders are extraneous and distracting on most images and I had to use CSS to keep this theme from putting them on every image by default. But sometimes they are necessary or desirable, and it’s nice we’ve been given back the tool to add them easily.
