  1. Don’t make them like her anymore how lucky are we oldies to have had such real stars to grace our lives.

  2. Hi PT– The Broadway channel on S/XM has played her songs from “Applause, Applause” and “Woman of the Year” along with stories about how truly classy she was as a performer across the genres. One of our last ‘real’ stars for sure! Years ago, 1st visit to NYC, i saw her walking along 5th Ave; always regretted not speaking to her….

  3. Learned some things I hadn’t known from Bacall’s obituary. She was something of a wild thing with Bogie and his crowd in those days, a staunch defender of free expression, and a passionate Democrat. She was a lady of real character. Hedy Lamar was too. Beware stereotypes, these pretty faces can belie their natures. 🙂

  4. Apparently she told Sinatra to shut up and sing, what a woman !

“We have met the enemy and he is us." ~ Pogo
