He’ll always be Spock

    1. LOL… Don’t know where the “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Guns To Town” came from! Must have been something I read on the Huffington Post website. 😀

Should have said… “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town” but then I suspect you knew that!

      1. I hadn’t heard the song in so long that I read right over that. Besides, wasn’t there another song that entreated someone not to take his gun to town?

        1. Yes, Johnny Cash had a hit song “Don’t Take Your Guns To Town” and I’m sure that is what crept into my poor feeble mind at the time. 🙂

    2. Hmm, now we know why Nimoy stuck to acting. His rendition of “Proud Mary” was absolutely painful, including what sounded to me like “toinin'” and “boinin'” (at 2:09) for “turning” and “burning.” (Sounds like New Jersey accent to me, but maybe it’s Boston, where he was born.) Definitely cringeworthy.

But we’ll always have Spock. Nimoy hated the typecasting, but he created an admirable, unforgettable character that the world loved and will love for a very long time.

      1. You’re right about that song for sure. It certainly explains why he excelled in his acting abilities as compared to his singing. But I do suspect now that he was someone who must have really liked music.
