Foliage fling

  1. Autumn certainly rushes in, in Colorado, by the look of things. Strictly speaking, it only started a couple of days ago, when the sun decided it was time to come back up to the Southern Hemisphere.

Love that picture especially when I did what you suggested. It’s quite dramatic in it’s way.

    1. I’m only just now noticing how it differs from my experience. Here the lighting is flat. No shadows, dull sky. The day I remember was sunny, backlighting the foliage so that it almost glowed in its translucency, with bright blue patches of sky. There simply aren’t words to describe it.

Yes, they said the foliage turned early this year because of the drought and heat. The weatherman said fall officially arrived earlier this evening (it’s almost 9 pm now). The leaves kind of jumped the gun.

  2. That is a gorgeous golden sight! Fall in the Midwest always a favorite of mine with maples red and rusts, but a few aspens mixed in would have been superb.
