It’s so easy in Colorado to turn one’s eyes to the mountains when seeking beauty. The grandeur of the peaks is undeniable, impossible to overlook. Others look to the sky shimmering with clouds and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Yet beauty is everywhere if we take the time to look. Even right at our feet.
Erik Stensland, professional photographer in Estes Park, Colo., takes magnificent photos of Rocky Mountain National Park. But with peaks rising all around him, he still thinks to look for the little things, like these few blades of dry grass in a snowbank.
“The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.”

Ah, looked it up. Thanks. I learned something new today.
Sorry for being so late. I’d highly recommend reading the SF short story of the same name.

i love the simple detail that he saw so beautifully
Simple shots like this become almost abstracts. I’ve always enjoyed them.
Lovely image – and wonderful quote.
(Looks so peaceful – would make a room soothing)
It is tranquil, isn’t it? Puts you in sort of a meditative mood.
magical; I had to look twice before it registered truly
It seems so simple, and yet …
that’s the beauty of it, the simplicity, that’s the word I was seeking when I left my comment
