Fallacy

  1. Assault rifles are inappropriate guns for hunting because the high-velocity bullets turn the meat into hamburger. So, is the next step for gun enthusiasts to advocate for machine guns for self-protection? RPG’s would also be effective against the feds coming for their guns.

    1. I’ve long heard onwers say they use their AR-15-style guns for hunting, and as you and the media have pointed out, that’s a flat out lie. Those guns would do too much damage to the game. Frankly I don’t think any military or military-style weapon should be available to civilians.

  2. johnthecook…FALLACY? The “good guy” with guns and ammo in hand F-A-I-L-E-D to react in a timely manner which resulted in a greater loss of life than what was expected. It is my understanding that there was a training exercise at this particular school with Law Enforcement personnel less than a year before this tragedy occurred. What happened to the training? I guess it was all for naught. WHO WAS IN CHARGE? That IS WHERE ACCOUNTIBILITY LIES!

    1. Yep, it’s a fallacy, a lie, that good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns. As you note, that certainly didn’t happen in Uvalde. I’d fire every cop in that town and wherever possible, sue them. The guy in charge, Arredondo, should be in prison.

... and that's my two cents
